New Details: Randolph school board ruling

RANDOLPH COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A south Georgia school board, plagued with controversy, now has the power to oust the board chair.

Late Monday, a judge lifted an injunction that prohibited the Randolph County School Board from electing a new chair.

Chair Henry Cook and Superintendent Bobby Jenkins have been at odds with a majority of board members for months.

Just last week, Judge Kevin Chason upheld the board's firing of Jenkins and ordered him out of his office.

His ruling means the board can immediately choose a new chair, but of course Cook will remain on the board.

The board's next meeting is scheduled for a week from Tuesday.
