Albany -- Dozens of law enforcement officers will gather in Albany later this month to honor former Dougherty County Police Chief Bill Kicklighter.
Chief Kicklighter retired last year, after 25 years as the Dougherty County Police Chief. Assistant Chief Jeremy French says a lot of reservations have been made by fellow officers across the state, and they expect a big crowd.
Dougherty County Assistant Chief Jeremy French said "With his participation in the POST council, the Georgia Chiefs, and the International Association of Chiefs, he has made a lot of friends. And made a lot of headway for law enforcement and public safety in Georgia."
The retirement dinner for Chief Kicklighter will be held February 21st at the Merry Acres Event Center. Reservations are required to attend.
