ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nearly 600 runners were competing Saturday morning at the Westover Cross Country Invite.
Peachtree Ridge finished first in the men's 5K. Tift County finished 13th, Westover in 15th, and Valdosta in 18th.
Charlie Sparks of Columbus took first with a time of 15 minutes 8.91 seconds. Tift County's Hunter Honeycutt finished in 6th place with a time of 15 minutes 53.81 seconds.
In the women's 5K North Gwinnett finished first. Westover had the best finish among the area teams coming in at 13th. Tift County was 15th and Valdosta 17th.
Molly Schenck of Pope came in 1st with a time of 18 minutes 30.01 seconds. Valdosta's Chelsea Walker came in 20th with a time of 19 minutes 45.47 seconds.
