Adel - A Florida man is charged with vehicular homicide in a July wreck that killed 6 people in Cook County.

A Cook County Grand Jury indicted 47 year old Richard Donald Herndon for first and second degree homicide by vehicle charges. He was arrested and booked into the Suwannee County Jail on January 31st, but released on 100 thousand dollars bond.

Herndon was driving a tractor-trailer along Interstate 75 when he plowed into the back of a minivan, pushing it into another tractor trailer and minivan. One of the minivans burst into flames, killing 6 passengers inside. The driver escaped without injury. The six people killed were returning home to Locust Grove from a church trip in Florida.
