ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candidate for an Albany city commission seat is dropping out of the race. Terry Hart qualified to run in Ward 5 against incumbent Bob Langstaff. Thursday, he announced he is withdrawing for personal reasons.

Hart says he's not sure if he will remain in Albany for a four-year commission term, so he didn't think it would be fair to run for the office.

Once Hart officially withdraws, there will be no opposition for Langstaff. If that happens, precincts in Ward five will not be open on election day.

Now, the only contested race is in Ward three between Chris Pike and Arthur Williams.
