VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A woman is charged with a hit and run for striking a jaywalker this morning.

40-year-old Tiffany Evans was crossing Gordon Street around 8:30.

Police say she stopped in the street to let oncoming traffic pass and was hit by a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by 50-year-old Lorraine Jenkins.

Jenkins kept driving and ran two stop signs before she was stopped and arrested by Valdosta Police.

Evans was treated at South Georgia Medical Center and has been released.
