ALBANY, GA (WALB) -A vacant East Albany home burned overnight, likely the work of vagrants.  And with cooler weather here, firefighters worry they'll see more of these fires.

Around 3:30 Wednesday morning, this vacant house on Almond Drive caught fire.

Firefighters found a small fire on the living room floor, which they believe was started to provide warmth.  Deputy Chief Ron Rowe said "It's very possible the people who are in and out of the vacant structures, it may be a possibility they are trying to keep themselves warm. That may increase. We're hoping not, but we want to make sure that we are aware of that."

Firefighters ask you to keep an eye on vacant buildings in your community and call 9-1-1 if you see people in them.
