ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Crooks stole a Moneygram printing machine and blank money order forms during a store burglary Wednesday morning.

Two thieves smashed the window at the Express Lane store on Newton Road just after 3:00AM and snatched the money order machine.

The company placed a payment stop on those money orders, but Investigators say businesses need to keep a close eye on people trying to cash money orders.

"They did steal the machines and unknown number of blank money orders. So we want to let them be aware to be on the lookout for these," said Dougherty County Police Captain Jimmy Sexton.

Businesses can check suspicious money orders by calling Money Gram at 800-323-6873 or Dougherty County Police at 229-430-6600.

Another Albany convenience store was also the victim of smash and grab thieves last night.

They broke through the front window of the Enmark on Clark Avenue in East Albany and stole several cartons of cigarettes.

Investigators have not determined if the two break-ins are related.
