Quitman - A South Georgia man is killed and another injured in a car accident over the weekend.
Nineteen year old Brandon Bivins of Quitman died early Sunday morning when he lost control of his car, hit a light pole and tree, and slammed into a house. A passenger in the car, 22 year old Jeffery Robinson, is in stable condition at South Georgia Medical Center.
Just moments before the crash, a Quitman police officer saw a similar car running a stop sign, but was unable to stop it.
Angel Kelly was asleep in her home when the car crashed into her front porch. "It's the worst thing you could ever hear, like a tornado hit the house," said Kelly.
Another passenger in the car, 24-year-old Duanta Roberts, was treated and released from Brooks County Hospital.
