VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta State wide receiver Cedric Jones is 3 catches away from making Gulf South conference history.
ones has 244 career receptions. He is just three shy of the all time conference record set by former Blazer Sean Pender.
There is a good chance Jones will break the record Thursday night when the Blazers play at Delta State.
Cedric says breaking the record would be great but he is just focused on helping the Blazers win.
"I know if I try to catch every ball that's thrown to me and catch the ball and run with it I know I'm helping the team out. I hope to try to help us win games" said Jones.
Valdosta State and Delta State kick off at 8:00 Thursday night.
