ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A tree fell across a primary power line in Northwest Dougherty County  Monday afternoon, which sparked a grass fire and the lose of electricity to abut 100 homes.

The large tree fell across the power line next to Old Dawson Road near Old Ivy Lane in western Dougherty County.

The wind was gusty, but the fire stayed in the road side ditch, and did little damage.

Paul Wallace, who lives across thre road, heard the tree fall. "Yea we heard it. It kinda went zut, zut, and then we saw some smoke going up. So we hit the 9-1-1 call. And we are so proud of them, because they were here in like ten minutes. They came right out in a hurry," Wallace said.

Old Dawson Road was blocked for about 25 minutes. Power was restored to all homes just before 2 PM.
