ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of children showed up at Tift Park Saturday for Albany Family Play day.

The Albany Recreation and Parks Department teamed up with Youth Becoming Healthy to encourage young people to play like a kid again.

It's part of Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play, dedicated to celebrate healthy and active play. Jarrett Smith attended the event and he said he enjoyed the activities and the new playground equipment.

"It's really fun. It's not just about laying around on the couch everyday," Smith said. "Life is more than that. It's about living your life to the fullest."

The Home Depot brought activities for the kids. They also got to enjoy bouncy rides, and relay races.
