TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Close to 3,000 people are expected to show up in Tifton to watch and cheer on some friendly competition between tractors and trucks.
The Tifton Truck and Tractor pull is a competition between trucks and tractors and whoever can pull the farthest wins.
Pullers travel in from all over for this event and compete for money and points.
Close to 3,000 people come in to watch this event, which does wonders for the local economy.
"Anytime you bring people from out of town they have to buy gas they have to buy food and many of them will be spending the night, and heads on beds is what tourism is all about and the more events we have like this in south Georgia the better it will help the economy," said Tyron Spearman, Tifton-Tift County Tourism Association.
The event starts at 7:00pm Friday night. It will run Saturday night as well at the American Legion Fairgrounds in Tifton.
