ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The airport in Albany is a step closer to getting a new terminal building.
The airport's getting a $652,000 grant, the money will be used for the design phases of construction for the new terminal building which will cost a total of $15 million.
"We know approximately how big it needs to be to satisfy our current and future needs now we're in the negotiation process to see what the terminal is going to look like and how we're going to use this money to do the construction drawings," said Yvette M. Aehle, Airport Director.
$225,000 has already been spent on the process, it'll be about a year and a half before construction begins.
