ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Unadilla man died while helping rescue victims from the recent flooding in Dooly County.

56-year old Rodney Williams, the public works superintendent for the city of Unadilla died Tuesday morning while trying to help residents who had been flooded out of their homes.

Williams was trying to get a boat when he started showing signs he may be having a heart attack.

He was taken to Crisp Regional in Cordele where he later died.

He had been working for the city for more than 30 years.
