ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The last beam of steel for Darton College's new Student Center was set in place today, but the building is far from finished.

With Thursday's topping out ceremony, construction will move onto the roof of the building along with building's exterior wall.

Darton President Dr. Peter Sireno told the audience the multipurpose room will be big enough for indoor soccer and can be turned into a banquet hall.

The last beam was set over the tallest area of the building that will house the areas largest rock climbing wall.

"It will be one of the tallest rock climbing walls around and it will be of the material that looks like faux rocks," said SKANSKA Sr. Project Manager Ken Cheatwood. "It will be very modernistic, state of the art technology in that product. Also there will be bowling alleys that's in, there's racket ball courts a large kitchen."

The building will be completed March 28th of 2010.
