TULSA, OK (WALB) - The long awaited announcement on the future of the AF2 indoor football league is scheduled to take place next week.
A press conference has been scheduled Monday afternoon in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A notice with the letterhead Arena Football 1 says commissioner Jerry Kurz will unveil a newly formed league of Arena Football teams and the location of the league's office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jerry Kurz was the president of the AF2 whose headquarters were in Chicago, Illinois.
There has been widespread speculation the new Arena Football 1 League would have two tiers of teams with larger market teams in one tier and smaller market teams in the second.
South Georgia Wildcats chief financial officer and general manager Ryan Nolen says the team has been waiting to learn the details of the new league before working out a lease with the city of Albany to continue playing at the Albany Civic Center.
