DOUGLAS - A South Georgia man is charged with stealing hundreds of pounds of chicken, and it may have been going on for some time.

Glen Charles Redmond was spotted leaving the Goldkist Chicken Processing plant early thursday morning in Douglas. He had eight 70-pound boxes of chicken in his car worth more than $800. Goldkist managers say they have noticed a lot of missing chicken boxes the past few months and had been trying to get to the bottom of it.

The 31-year-old Waycross man is charged with felony theft by taking and obstruction of a police officer.
