ALBANY, GA (WALB) -A Sylvester man wanted for stealing copper from irrigation systems in Dougherty and Worth Counties surrendered to Worth County Sheriff's Investigators.

32 year old Patrick Avant surrendered over the weekend. Friday Dougherty County Police issued four warrants for theft by taking against Avant and 36 year old Randy Stovall.

Friday 18-year old Devin Crenshaw of Albany was arrested and charged with felony theft by taking.

Wednesday three Dougherty County farmers reported several irrigation pivots had been stripped of the electrical copper wire that runs them.

The Worth County Sheriff's Office is also investigating several similar copper thefts, and more arrests are expected.
