Everett headed to hall of fame

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Doublegate golf pro Ed Everett says he's reached the pinnacle of his golf career

On Thursday Ed received a phone call informing him he had been selected as an inductee into the 2010 class of the Georgia Sports Hall of fame.

Other 2010 inductees include long time Georgia Tech broadcaster Al Ciraldo, longtime voice of the Atlanta Braves Ernie Johnson Sr., former NBA star Sam Mitchell, NFL stars Larry Rakestraw, and Ronald Simmons, and Georgia gymnastics coaching legend Suzanne Yoculan.

Everett says it's surreal just to be in the same conversation with the names like that.

"When they called me yesterday it really didn't sink in until someone called me and talked to me about it and then that's when I kind of got nervous and kind of shaking a little bit" said Everett.

In 1997 Everett won the National PGA Senior Club Professional Championship. Everett will be inducted into the hall of fame February in Macon.
