ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  A Blakely lawyer charged with stealing from a sick girl's trust fund, has surrendered for arrest.

44-year-old Thomas Sasser, III turned himself in Wednesday morning.

Sasser is charged with felony theft by conversion.

Prosecutors say he stole from the trust fund of 14-year-old Ashley James who was badly burned in a murder attempt when she was three years old.

Sasser was released on $75,000 bond.
