VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Police just revealed today a murder in Valdosta last Thursday.

It is the seventh murder of the year in Valdosta and the men responsible are tied to a string of severe beating cases.

Police have arrested Corey Singleton and Dontarius Johnson, both 20 years old for the murder of 60-year old Robert Crawford.  Crawford was severely beaten and found lying in a yard unconcious. He died last Thursday at South Georgia Medical Center. Singleton and Johnson have been charged with murder, robbery and aggravated assault.

"Unfortunately we lost another life in Valdosta but the good news is we believe we have the primary folks responsible, but again we're not going to rule out any additional charges," said Commander Brian Childress, Valdosta Police.

Singleton, Johnson, and a 16-year old have also charged with two other beating assaults. One of the victims, 49-year old Michael McCaskill is in critical condition after he was beaten on South Ashley Street.  The third victim was released from the hospital.
