ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It is not often the Darton golf team is trailing.
The Cavaliers are three shots back heading into the final round of their own Darton Invitational.
Georgia Southwestern shot a 300 and leads by three shots over the host Cavaliers.
Thomas University is five shots back in third and ABAC#1 is in fourth at 306.
Darton coach Dale Dover not happy with his team's play in their first tournament of the fall.
Trey McQuaig led the Cavs with a 71. Josh Cone added a 75 but the Cavs also had to count a 78 by Roy Steinberg and a 79 by Jason Bennett.
Georgia Southwestern's was led by former Lee County golfer Nate Gahman who shot a 71.
McQuaig and Gahman are one shot behind GSW's Reese Moseley in the medalist competition.
Moseley is playing by himself and opened with a 70.
The second and final round is Saturday.
