ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A fire ripped through the storage shed of an Albany church and members say they are thankful it wasn't any worse.

Flames erupted inside the storage shed of the 7th Day Adventists Church Friday night off 7th avenue.

A good Samaritan saw the fire and ran over to the church to inform the pastor and three others.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames before it caused any damage to the church.

Firefighters say the fire probably started from an electrical short, but the official cause is still under investigation.
