The Blazers are back in action Saturday when Valdosta State hosts Southern Arkansas in the Gulf South Conference opener.The Blazers secondary faces a challenge with a Southern Arkansas offense that has switched from the wishbone to spread with a new coaching staff.
Head coach David Dean says quarterback Kellen Lewis' arm is fine and he is ready to go as is the entire Blazer football team.
David Dean said. "You can feel the excitement now that the Gulf South Conference is starting and there is a lot more at stake going into this ballgame. Our guys are ready to get back out there and prove that we do have a good football team and we can play a lot better than we did against Newberry."
Valdosta State looking to avoid their first 0-2 start since 1997.
Game time is 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
