VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Valdosta Technical College recently announced it will merge with East Central Technical College and be named Wiregrass Georgia Technical College beginning July 1, 2010.
Students and put together a list of 38 names and Wiregrass was selected by the board directors from both the colleges.
"As you drive across south Georgia the things that you notice in South Georgia are Wiregrass covers this area our technical college covers our service area," said Dr. Ray Perren, Valdosta Technical College President.
Dr. Perren says the combination of the technical schools give students more opportunities throughout the region.
