ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Feeding the thousands of South Georgians who could go hungry takes money and dedication. Those who help make it happen got a big thank you Tuesday night.

The Food Bank of Southwest Georgia held its annual Feeding Hope Awards Banquet at First United Methodist Church in downtown Albany.

Every year they set aside time during Hunger Action Month to thank their 300 partner agencies for helping reduce hunger in Southwest Georgia.

"We've got five agencies that are going to receive paper pusher awards . We've got an impact award for those that really impact their community in the fight against hunger," said SWGA Food Bank President Brett Kirkland.

Love Thy Neighbor of Albany received the Agency of the Year award for their work with the Food Bank to feed south Georgians.
