BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - A major south Georgia highway shut down because of a train derailment reopened Wednesday morning.

U.S. Highway 84, or Dothan Road, in northwest Bainbridge was blocked for several hours while crews with crane equipment removed the rail cars.

Three train cars derailed a little after seven o'clock Tuesday night and spilled a lot of corn.  One rail car was actually in the road.

This happened near Dollar Farm Products.

According Georgia DOT spokesman Craig Solomon, only one lane remained closed overnight but reopened around 6 Wednesday morning.

No word from officials on what caused the train to derail.
