Albany's Mitchell ready to tee it up with UGA golf team

ATHENS, GA (WALB) - The Georgia golf team is ready to tee off their fall season at the Carpet Capital Classic this weekend near Dalton.

Albany's T.J. Mitchell will be playing for the Bulldogs in their season opening tournament.

Georgia golf coach Chris Haack says Mitchell has made the lineup.

After leading Deerfield-Windsor to two state titles, T.J. Mitchell took a redshirt last season for Georgia.

He did win the Albany Amateur in July.

The Georgia golf team also returns two time all-American Harris English from Thomasville.

Last year Georgia reached the semifinals at the NCAA tournament and finished the year ranked number one by Golfstat and Golf Coaches Association of America.
