ALBANY,  GA (WALB) - An Albany woman is fuming after becoming a theft victim at of all places, a church parking lot.

Chiquita Shorter often visits her grandmother's church, Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal.

After Sunday morning worship she walked outside and found that her purse, two cell phones, a GPS, digital camera, and even clothing items were missing from her car.  Thieves tried getting in with a crowbar.

When that didn't work, they used a brick to break the window, and pop the trunk. Monday, Shorter spent her holiday dealing with the mess.

"Well basically I'm trying to get me a rent-a-car so they can restore the window and everything. And I've got to wait until everything opens up tomorrow to be able to go and get my social security cards and everything like that," she said.

Shorter says she always locks her vehicle, and even puts her expensive items in her trunk when she gets out. But this time it didn't matter, thieves got in anyway.
