ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The west side of the Albany Mall will be draped in red, white, and blue as the Patriots' Field of Flags returns for a seventh year. This is what the field looked like last year.

The Exchange Club of Southwest Georgia is looking for volunteers to help install a thousand flags Saturday at 8:00 AM in the field between the Albany Mall and Outback Steakhouse. Organizers hope the field reminds the public to remember those who have served our country.

"It's a memorial site as far as we're concerned. It just represents the greatness of our country and the people that make up our country," said Marvin Mixon, Exchange Club of Southwest Georgia.

The flags will be up all week and can be sponsored in memory of or in honor of a loved one for $25. This year the Marine Corps Logistics Band will perform at the annual ceremony at the field September 11th at 7:00 PM.
