The former Dougherty High and Florida State star has found a team ready to give him a chance.
Alexander Johnson has told WALB News 10 Sports he has agreed to a deal with the Utah Jazz.
He will report to Utah for training camp in a couple of weeks.
After playing a season each in Memphis and Miami, Johnson played overseas in Germany last season before coming home to have rotator cuff surgery earlier this year.
Johnson played with a torn rotator cuff the season he played with the Heat.
After having played for two losing teams in the NBA, Johnson is excited about the opportunity to make roster for a perennial NBA playoff team like Utah.
His chances to make the team would improve if the Jazz are able to trade power forward Carlos Boozer.
Alexander Johnson said. "If I can get on a winning team, I feel like I can fit in real good. Especially with a point guard like Deron Williams. I am just excited that I get to start to work with some of those guys."
The Jazz will play two exhibition games in Spain next month.
