Colquitt County - Two jail trustys take out the trash and then take off.
Thirty-one-year-old Danny Lewis and 25-year-old Carl Jenkins slipped away from the Colquitt County jail around 5:30 Wednesday morning. They were caught three hours later less than a half a mile from the jail.
The Valdosta K-9 unit tracked them to this attic at Grace Freewill Baptist Church. Colquitt County Sheriff Al Whittington says, "They were trustys, basically not locked up 24 hours a day and allowed to move about the facility. People that are not at an escape risk."
Lewis was in jail for for theft by taking and Jenkins for drugs and theft. They'll now be charged with burglary and escape.
