ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A group of Albany residents got together today and sold lemonade to help with the battle against childhood cancer.

The effort was part of the Alex's Lemonade stand foundation, a nationwide effort.

Before she died, Cancer patient Alexandra scott announced she wanted to use a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer.

The Hidden Oaks apartment complex decided join in on the effort.

They held a block party complete with a dunking booth food and a DJ.

"I guess with some of the other functions going on people didn't stay here real long we raised about 125 dollars today so it did pretty good," said Derrick Teemer at Hidden Oaks apartments.

Event organizers estimate more than 50 people dropped by the lemonade stand today.
