VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Local entreprenuers will compete for $15,000 starting tomorrow.

The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and area colleges are kicking off the annual Guardian Bank Business Plan competition.

Those starting a business that need a plan, have a chance to take free marketing classes from Valdosta State University and Valdosta Technical College.

Plans will be judged and winners will be announced in April.

"The business plan competition was designed to help increase the per capita income for this area as well as to employ college graduates and technical graduates from this area," said Robbin Miller of SEGA Medical Research, also the winner of the 2009 competition.

The deadline to enter is tomorrow. The kick-off event is held at the Guardian Bank on Norman Drive tomorrow at 5 p.m.
