Chambliss to talk to troops

January 24 Albany- More troops will leave Fort Stewart for the Persian Gulf this weekend.

Before they head to the Persian Gulf, they'll hear from U-S Senator Saxby Chambliss.

Chambliss arrived in Albany from Washington late this afternoon. He wants a chance to visit with some of the soldiers headed for possible war in Iraq.

Chambliss says it's important those soldiers know the Bush team is doing everything possible to solve the standoff with Iraq without war, but must be prepared to fight.

"Saddam Hussein is a known terrorist," he said. "We know that he has manufactured and stockpiled weapons of mass destruction. We know that the only reason he's doing that is to use those weapons to kill individuals, particularly Americans.

"We cannot let that happen. This president is not going to let that happen."

Senator Chambliss says the only thing Saddam understands is force.
