ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For nearly a decade The Albany State Volleyball team has stood a top the mountain in the S-I-A-C.

The Golden Rams will be looking to capture a 9th consecutive conference title this season.

Overcoming inexperience will be the key with only four key players returning from last year.

Head Coach Robert Skinner says winning another conference title is going to be extremely challenging this year.

"Any of the conference schools are going to give us a run for our money this year. We're not the same powerhouse we've been in the past so therefore we expect everybody to come at us. We're just going to have to lower our guns and go at them the same way they're coming at us" said Skinner.

The Golden Rams aren't letting the inexpierience change the goal of winning another conference title.

"Our goals remain the same. We're very ambitious, very competitive, we've just got to come out and play every night and take one game at a time. I feel like we're going to be ok" said Skinner.

The Lady Rams will open the 2009 season in the West Georgia Invitational beginning Friday in Carrollton. Albany State won't play at home until the S-I-A-C Crossover Tournament September 17th through the 19th.
