Rams offense prepared for anything in season opener

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Albany State feels like they walking into the unknown in Thursday's season opener at Chowan University in North Carolina.

It is the first meeting between these two teams.

Head coach Mike White says all they have heard about the Chowan defense is they like to blitz.

That presents a challenge for an Albany State offense that has a new offensive coordinator and new starting quarterback.

A-J McKenna did start one game last year but enters this season knowing he is the man picked to lead the Rams offense.

The senior is confident the Rams are going to be ready for whatever Chowan throws at them.

A.J. McKenna said. "We have prepared for the blitz really well this week with coach Smith and everything. Making sure that the line is ready. We are putting in a lot of checks and things like that but we should be 100% prepared for the game."

The Rams kick off the season 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Chowan University.
