ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For the first time ever, students can live on campus at Darton College and Sunday folks got a chance to see just how nice student living really is.

208 students moved into the apartments two weeks ago, but today officials opened the doors to the Darton Commons Apartments up to the community to let the public get a peak inside the building.

The facility offers standard, private and deluxe rooms complete with their own bedrooms and bathrooms for students.

Housing officials say all the rooms filled up before school was even in session.

"We want this to be an extension of the campus where students not only come here to sleep and socialize but they also come to learn we have a study hall facility here a workout facility laundry facilities where students can come and learn they can connect," said Chris Summerlin, Director of student housing.

The building cost around $7.5 million dollars and took a little over 8 months to build.
