Forestry Commission to hire more than 300 temporary workers

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Forestry commission will hire 300 temporary workers and help the environment thanks to federal stimulus money.

The commission is getting $9.7-million in stimulus grants.

Workers will help reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires and reach out to landowners who need update forest management plans.

The forestry commission is looking highly-qualified applicants in several positions for 18-month assignments.

The deadline for applying for some of those positions is midnight, the others close Wednesday.
