VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Valdosta City leader decides not to run for a third term.

Councilman Willie Head will not seek re-election this year in district 2. He has been Mayor Pro-Tem for 6 of his eight years in office.

Head says he's worked hard over the years to improve his district. He and his wife are renovating a home and moving to another district.

"With the requirement that of course you must live in the district you represent, come January we will be relocating to district 4," said Councilman Willie Head.

Councilmen Robert Yost in District 6 and Alvin Payton in District 4 haven't announced whether they'll run again.

Both their terms end this year.

The general election is November third.
