Police recommend alarm systems to fight home invasions

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are again stressing the need for home alarm systems after several recent home invasions. And they say you don't have to spend a lot of money.

There have been two home invasions this month at the Wild Pines Apartments,

Police say there are a lot of ways to protect yourself.  From high-tech systems monitored by professional companies to simple alarms you hang on your door knob.

Albany Police Lt. James Williams said  "Once someone touches your doorknob or forces your door open, there is an audible alarm that will alarm neighbors, when that alarm goes off. It's a good investment that we ask the citizens to look into for their safety."

Police are still investigating these recent home invasions to see if they are connected.

No arrests have been made.
