ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A 14 year old Albany girl, charged with killing a 12 year old boy will likely be tried as an adult.
Ladrona Hamilton remains in the Dougherty County jail. Bond was denied at a hearing Thursday morning.
Hamilton is charged with stabbing 12 year old Shawn Wiliams to death in June at a mobile home park on East Broad Avenue.
Neighbors say Hamilton was mad with Williams because he threw rocks at her home, so she went inside got a knife, chased him down and stabbed him in the chest.
District Attorney Greg Edwards said he will ask the grand jury to indict the 14 year old as an adult. "Number one, this could have been a situation that could have been avoided. And there are just certain factors about this thing that make me feel that the appropriate court to hear this particular matter is the adult court", Edwards said.
Hamilton is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
