ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Ben Hill County Sheriff's deputy has been arrested and fired from his job. 

39-year-old Michael Clark is charged with holding his girlfriend hostage at several locations in Irwin County on Monday.

The girlfriend was unharmed. Clark is charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

He had been a Ben Hill County deputy for four and a half years. He was fired following his arrest.
