ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Next Monday, Albany and Dougherty County leaders will come together to discuss consolidation.

Experts from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government will be in Albany to answer questions related to a consolidation charter written by a separate committee several years ago. County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard said he called for the meeting to help answer any questions about the issue before the commissions vote on the subject again.

Sinyard said, "The primary purpose is for them to discuss, specifically, the process of consolidation and to answer questions and to really engage with the commissioners about different parts of the process that they need to pay close attention to and basically allow the commission to ask specific questions about what they think should be in their charter if they don't like the charter as it is written now."

That meeting will be held next Monday morning (August 24th) at ten at the Candy room in Downtown Albany.
