"I said, we are going to the Super Bowl! I'm a Super Bowl mom!" Annie Grant is the proud mother of the Super Bowl bound Keyon Nash. "I have never been apart of nothing like this, so it's just a new experience for me," Grant explained.
And it's an experience neither Annie nor Keyon will forget anytime soon. Nash, a rookie defensive back for the Oakland Raiders, spent most of his first year on the practice squad. But just last week the former Miller County and Albany State standout was signed to the active roster, meaning he will be on the sidelines Sunday in Super Bowl XXXVII when Oakland takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "(It's his)First year and he's playing in a Super Bowl! You know it's gotta be a blast," Grant added.
Since his mother has already been to a Raider game this year, Keyon has decided to fly his two older sisters to San Diego. "(My mom told me)Keyon said you and Delishia are going out to watch the game. And I said, 'Me, for real?' And she said, yes," Keyon's oldest sister Fisandria Rahymes said. "When I first see him, I'm just going to jump on him and say, 'What's up man? I miss you, and I love you,'" Delishia Nash said.
And Nash can rest assured that not only will he have plenty of support in the stands, but also back home in Colquitt. "Me and my husband, we're gonna cook and we're gonna be right there in front of the T.V. And we're gonna enjoy it from home," Grant said.
And of course it wouldn't be a Super Bowl party without a pre-game prediction. "You know the Raiders are going to win. You don't even have to ask that, you already know the Raiders," Grant exclaimed.
