Albany - City leaders consider building a $17,000,000 hotel and conference center downtown. The hotel would be built on Front Street next to the River Center which is already under construction. On Tuesday, The Earl Patton Company based in Atlanta proposed building a Hilton Garden Inn Hotel and Conference Center.

"The hotel would be state-of -the-art with a massive ball room, 4 board rooms, a restaurant and a bar," said investor Earl Patton.

The hotel will also have 120 rooms. This is a private-public partnership. Nearly $5,000,000 of tax money would be used for the projects. No decision was made on the proposal.
