ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  A vision for the future was the topic of discussion Friday at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany.

MCLB Commander Col. Terry Williams sat down with WALB, and said he's been at many different Marine bases over the years, and that the support from the community in Albany is the best. Williams also talked about the future of the base.

He said more warehouses are being planned and additional civilian jobs could be created. He also said the base is trying to reduce its carbon footprint and its reliance on foreign sources of energy.

"We're looking at potentially going to more hybrid vehicles on the base. Electric and hydrogen cell as well as increasing our other alternative fuels, whether it's a forklift or the other vehicles," said Williams.

Col. Williams also said that there are no immediate plans to expand the base beyond its current physical boundaries. He has been in command at MCLB for almost two months.
