ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As college students head back to campuses they take a lot of money with them.

At Shabazz Fish Supreme near Albany State's campus they can tell when students are back in town.

They and other nearby businesses see a lot more foot traffic when school is in session.

A study earlier this year showed ASU has a 150 million dollar impact on Albany's economy every year.

Businesses look forward to Albany State being in because when they're in school you're talking about new monies in town and that has a real impact on your business," Gordon Hall, Shabazz Owner.

That same study shows Darton College's annual impact is more than 110 million dollars.

Valdosta State University has a 326 million dollar economic impact there.
