ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Sherwood Christian has a new everything this year.

A new head coach and a roster of seven transfer players.

The new coach is Reginald Mitchell who replaces Rock Knapp who stepped down in spring due to his cancer treatments.

The Eagles also have seven transfer players including four from Albany High.

The most notable is senior running back Dontavious Brown.

Brown though is having to fight for a starting job with Pete "Big Train" McSwain, Phillip Engilsh and Derrick Allen.

Three players are battling for the starting quarterback job with John Schramm out for the season after having shoulder surgery.

Stephen Cannady will be the Eagles top target at receiver but the big task for the new coach is putting together an offensive line.

Reginald Mitchell said. "That is one area that we are very much concerned with at this time." we are confident that we will have a line on both sides of the ball ready to go game time."

Sherwood Christian opens the Reginald Mitchell era August 28th at Lyman Ward Academy in Alabama.
